TENNIKOIT TOURNAMENT

After the grand success of the Badminton Tournament “Manovikas Sports Department” hosted the much-awaited Tennikoit Tournament for its Support Staff, for the academic year 2021-2022. Tennikoit is a Sport that is played with a rubber ring; therefore, the objective of this game is to catch and throw the ring back on to the opponent’s court. This sport is believed to have invented in Germany. Tennikoit is played in a set format of three games, wherein the team that wins two sets consecutively wins the match. The Event was hosted by the physical education teacher Sir Anup. The event was inaugurated at the hands of our former chairman Mr. Jose Manuel Noronha, Principals of each section Mrs. Maria Norman- High School, Tr. Lavita Rodrigues - section Head Middle School, Tr Pallavi Buyao – primary section, Tr. Brenda Bhandari – Pre-Primary section; Sports teachers and senior Support Staff. Mr. Noronha spoke a few words to motivate the participants and declared the tournament open. The participants were encouraged and cheered by the gathering throughout the matches. The players showcased a great sense of discipline and mastery of skills achieved through dedication and hard work. The spirit of sportsmanship was in the air. All the participants realised playing any game for fifteen to twenty minutes in a day can keep them mentally and physically fit. The result of the tournament is as Follows:- 1 st place – Nita Dalvi and Nivea Pango 2 nd place - Fatima Araujo and Conceicao Fernandes 3 rd Place - Inacinha Quadros Culmination of the day witnessed loud cheers during the prize distribution ceremony that took place at the hands of Tr. Pallavi Buyao (Principal – Primary Section) and Tr. Brenda Bhandari (Principal – PP Section). The event ended with a Vote of Thanks by Tr. Vijayshree Naik and Tr. Leincy Peixoto, the physical education teachers. The evening ended on a high note with a look of accomplishment and pride on the faces of the participants.
